Heidi and Joey were engaged in 2009 and began planning a formal wedding with a long guest list, but that all changed when Heidi broke off the engagement and went to law school instead.
Heidi sold her expensive formal designer dress and vowed to never plan a large wedding again. But...the two could not stay apart and Joey proposed for the second time. They both wanted a stress-free, inexpensive, intimate wedding, surrounded by there closest family and friends. And that is just what they did.
Joey and Heidi rented a gorgeous two story home located on the beach in Venice, Florida. Joey grew up in Venice and spent many days surfing the coastline. It was the perfect spot for this chic intimate wedding.
"One of the ways we were keeping our wedding simple was by foregoing the wedding party. Much to my chagrin, my aunt had different plans and ultimately asked my sister and brother-in-law to stand up with us. Luckily, the attire for the wedding was beach-chic, so everyone was in tropical, fun colors which looked great in photos. We ordered my bouquet from Costco and it had the most beautiful shades of pink roses that complimented my style and personality. A family friend brought his steel drums and his teenage son, who played the cello for us as a special surprise. They were amazing! "
Heidi had this to say about her perfect wedding day..."Our wedding day was one of the happiest and saddest days of my life. I waited a very long time to marry that boy, but I had recently lost my beloved father only six months prior to our wedding day. I could not stop myself from thinking about my dad throughout the day. We did a lovely shell toss tribute to him while the band played his favorite song "Take it Easy". We were incredibly happy with how our wedding turned out and we never felt stressed throughout the planning or on our wedding day. I know that my dad would have really enjoyed himself."
Congratulations Heidi and Joey, it was an honor and pleasure to work with you!
