Michelle Reed Photography

As the holidays are fast approaching, I find myself racking my brain to come up with cool gift ideas for my family and friends. If you find yourself in the same situation as I, consider a gift card to the Michelle Reed’s School of Photography.

I have been working as a professional photographer for 17 years now and I absolutely love what I do. Whether I am photographing families, executives, weddings, events, food or luxurious Naples real estate, I am constantly learning, and I love sharing my photography knowledge with others. It is very rewarding for me to educate people on how to better understand their camera, and to take professional looking photographs. I base each lesson on the individuals unique needs and desires. So, basically, you get to decide what you want to learn, that way you are not learning something that you already know.

All photography classes are a minimum of two hours, with the option to add additional time. Most clients have technical questions, so we typically spend an hour discussing the technical side of photography, and then we go out into the field to apply the new learned knowledge to our photo capturing.

Over the years, I have had many clients ask me to start up a photography school, but I just never had the time. I finally made the time last year when Candace, one of my past brides contacted me, and asked if I would be interested in working with her dad David. David is passionate about photography, and has a beautiful portfolio of photographs, with no professional training, but he wanted to take his photography skills to the next level. That is when Candace called me. David was interested in learning the technical side of his camera, so we spent our first two hours learning all about the camera and how it works. We discussed ISO’s, apertures, shutter speeds and the importance of each one of them, and how they all work together. We also discussed camera gear, and I made several recommendations to him, for a lens and flash that I felt would work well for the type of photography that he was shooting.

We spent a total of four hours together, and it was fun to watch him work with his wife on the beach, after our final lesson. It was very rewarding for me to be a part of his progression and to share my photography knowledge with a fellow photographer. The last image shown on this blog post was taken by David. Way to go my friend! Beautiful work.
